In my previous article, I described a very simple use of feature toggle and how to create it. The challenge is when your application is cloud based and we want dynamically to control features which meets business requirement.

Cloud based feature toggle requires careful planning if your system spans across multiple zone globally.

User-Centric Feature Toggle

In my previous article, I described a very simple use of feature toggle and how to create it. The challenge is when the business requires to expose feature toggle to certain users or group of users.

Now in my simplistic world, in the first instance, I can use some command line parameter to collect a number of users. For examples: -DFT_USERS=user1,user2

Again on our software we can read system variable to obtain FT_USERs and apply the same business logic as follows:

Feature Toggle is very simple to design and use it in the development.  Irrespective of programming language and development process feature toggle enables rapid development. One must ensure it’s simple and easy to use.
